VK, short for Viable Korea, was a mobile phone manufacturer from South Korea. The company when it was first started specialized in mobile phone terminals. In the early days of VK they used to import Lithium Ion polymer batteries for mobile phones in South Korea. Within three years by 2000 VK started to manufacture their own batteries and mobile handsets.

VK Mobile initially focused on selling their handset to Asian market primarily. They expanded to Europe and the US later on. Early VK Mobile phones were CDMA and PCS with plans to get into GSM and other technologies as well.

VK Mobile was founded by Yi Cheol-Sang who was a famous student leader in South Korea. He was a popular figure in his country before he ventured into business. Unfortunately, the company filed for bankruptcy on July 7, 2006.
