 Motorola Mobile Phones
Motorola is an American multinational company based in Schaumburg, Illinois. It started in Chicago as Galvin Manufacturing Corporation in 1928. It manufactures wireless telephone handsets, cellular transmission based stations and signal amplifiers.
Motorola's mobile division is now focusing on smartphones using Google's Android operating system. The first Motorola phone to use Google's android 2.0 was released on November 2, 2009 as Motorola Droid. In 2008 Motorola had 64,000 employees worldwide. In 1952, Motorola opened its first subsidiary in Toronto, Canada to produce radios and televisions.
Motorola has also established Motorola Foundation, which supports leading universities in United States.
