LG Mobile Phones

LG electronics is the third largest producer of mobile phones. The headquarters of LG is in Yeouido, South Korea. The company has 75 subsidiaries worldwide. It was founded in 1958 as Goldstar and employs about 83,000 employees worldwide. It was a merger of two Korean companies Lucky and Goldstar and hence the name LG.

In 2005 LG was a top 100 global brands and in 2006 it recorded a brand growth of 14%. The launch of LG Chocolate phone changed the company's image as the maker of thick 3G phones. After the launch of LG Shine, LG Glimmer and LG Prada, LG was chosen as the "Design team of the year"
